The School of Environmental Sciences is located in a quiet neighbourhood of the old part of Gorizia and is with Nova Gorica.

Within walking distance, participants will also find the historical centre of Gorizia and its medieval Castle, as well as restaurants, cafeterias and recreational facilities in downtown Nova Gorica for more entertainment. Free city bus is available for transportation within walking distance (10 min.) from the main University building in Rožna dolina, and dormitories in in Nova Gorica and the suburbs.

Practical part of the Summer school will be organised at Otlica, in the mountains above Ajdovščina, where the LIDAR facility of the Centre for atmospheric research at the University of Nova Gorica is located. The location offers splendid views over the Vipava valley and possibility to visit several natural attractions.

A visit to the capital Ljubljana, where Environment agency of the Republic of Slovenia is located, is also foreseen.
